Good Morning Britain presenter Adil Ray caused a stir after revealing his latest holiday plan. He explained he would be going on a getaway with his former partner.

Lingo host Adil, 52, confirmed the plans when he presented the ITV morning show on Thursday (August 6) together with Kate Garraway. He shocked his co-star and his guests, however, when he admitted they would even share a bed.

But Adil was quick to point out that everything was "purely platonic" between the two now, adding they would be "sensible". The revelation, however, left Kate in awe, as she pointed out his refusal to ever speak about his private life.

The present made the confession during a debate on the show regarding holidays with exes and whether there is a fear of overstepping boundaries. The presenters were joined on the sofa at the time by ex-Atomic Kitten star Kerry Katona, as well as former Corrie legend Nigel Havers.

Adil explained: "I am good friends with my ex. She needs a holiday, and I need a holiday, and we are both thinking about it."

His revelation shocked his co-stars, with Kate audibly gasping: "Are you? Well you never talk about your romantic life!" Adil was quick to clarify the situation, explaining he is still single, and he just maintains a good friendship with the former flame.

Actor Nigel, who has forayed into presenting himself, hosting the BBC's The Bidding Room, was quick to stir the pot. He joking quipped: "You might get back together!"

Adil, however, was quick to shut the prospect down, but added more fuel to the fire when he suggested the pair might sleep together. "Nah I dont know about that but we might even share a room!" he insisted.

"Because it will save us a bit of money! But we can be sensible, we can be purely platonic," Adil added, to which Kerry quickly replied: "Just pushing his luck here."

Adil, who is best known for his acting and hosting skills, has largely kept his private life out of the spotlight. However, he has previously revealed that his father has demanded when the star will get married.

And Adil has been trying to find a partner, as he admitted in an interview with OK! magazine back in 2021. He revealed at the time that he was "looking for The One", but confessed that trying to date in the middle of a pandemic was "difficult", adding: I just need the right girl to settle down with!"
