Goodfellas and Halloween star dies as heartbroken brother shares sad news

An beloved actor who appeared in a number of well-loved films and TV shows has sadly died as his brother was forced to confirm the devastating news to the press

Goodfellas actor Ray Liotta dies aged 67

An American actor who featured in countless film and television productions has passed away at the age of 81. The performer is most famous for his cinema role as Sheriff Ben Meeker in the 1988 horror flick Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers, a part he returned to in the franchise's fifth instalment.


Beau Starr also featured in Goodfellas in 1990 as Henry's father. Mike Starr, Beau's younger sibling who is also an actor known for starring in the Young and the Restless, confirmed to TMZ that Beau died on Friday, April 24 in Vancouver, Canada.


He revealed that Beau passed peacefully of natural causes. Mike also stated that his brother was loved by those who knew him and was "very unique and special."

He mentioned Beau and his other siblings helped bring him up alongside his parents and had an enormous influence on his life. Starr's former co-star Christopher Serrone, who featured in Goodfellas as the younger version of Ray Liotta's character Henry Hill, also broke the news to supporters, reports the Mirror.

He said: "It is with a heavy heart I'm here to inform everyone of the very sad passing of Beau Starr. [Mike Starr] asked me to make the announcement. Beau enjoyed a rich a meaningful life."


"He was a son, brother, father, grandfather, actor and NFL /CFL player. Please take a moment to help me remember a great guy. RIP."

Supporters have shared tributes online, recalling his performances and offering condolences to his family: "Very sad to hear about this. He was fantastic in Halloween 4 and 5. RIP 'Halloween' Franchise Actor Beau Starr Dead at 81," said one person on X/Twitter.

Starr's debut film role came in the 1982 picture Hanky Panky starring Gene Wilder and Gilda Radner. He then featured in Three's Company and in Steve Martin's The Lonely Guy.
