Ice Cream Man's blood-soaked trailer has left cinemagoers comparing the premise to another recent popular horror movie. The upcoming film is directed by Eli Roth, the mastermind behind Cabin Fever and Hostel.
The trailer begins with a family discussing the "weird Ice Cream Man' who keeps following their young son, before the footage shows all the kids in school with deadpan expressions and faces covered in colourful ice cream.
The children then wreak on the school, attacking teachers and attempting to "turn" their fellow pupils who are still normal. In one gruesome scene, a girl lands on the top of a car and vomits all over the windscreen as everyone inside screams.
Studio Canal posted the trailer with the description: "This summer, the children are having a meltdown. Witness the new trailer for Eli Roth's ICE CREAM MAN. In cinemas August 7th."
'An idyllic summer town descends into madness when an ice cream man serves kids sweet delights with horrifying results."
Down in the comments, horror fans were clearly having mixed feelings about the trailer.
One person said: "So, Weapons but with sprinkles," referencing the 2025 horror film with a very similar plot.
All but one child from the same class vanishes on the same night at exactly the same time, leaving the town to frantically figure out who is behind it all.
Another said: "Cooties X Weapons X Ice Cream Man The Crossover Horror Movie," while a third person added: "This film reminds me of the movie called Cooties, with Elijah Wood."
One eager film fan wrote: "This looks incredible," after watching the teaser, as another person joined in: "Cant wait to see this!!!"
