Heartfelt tributes pour in for Caroline Flack's 'deeply loved' brother after death

Tributes have poured in for Caroline Flack's brother Paul after his death aged 55, with Flackstock organisers saying they are 'beyond heartbroken' by the devastating loss

Heartfelt tributes have flooded in following the death of Paul Flack, the older brother of late TV presenter Caroline Flack.

Mr Flack was found unresponsive at his home in Sandringham Road, Norwich, on June 21. He later died at Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital, an inquest heard on Monday. His death comes six years after the loss of his younger sister, former Love Island and The X Factor presenter Caroline Flack, who died in 2020.

Both Caroline and Paul were born in London before growing up in Norfolk, where the family remained closely connected. Following the news of Paul's death, organisers of Flackstock the annual festival established in Caroline's memory to raise awareness of mental health said they were "beyond heartbroken".

In an emotional statement shared on Instagram, they wrote: "We loved Paul so deeply, and this news has shattered us all. Paul was funny, kind and loving. He gave the best hugs and had the most brilliant laugh. We will miss him so much. Flackstock exists as a festival to give people hope.

"To remember those who have been lost, and to hold a hand out to anyone who is struggling. This news is hard to hear and hard to share. Right now, our focus is supporting the Flack family however we can, so please bear with us while we grieve someone we loved so very, very much. Please take care of each other, and be kind."

Paul's final Instagram post was a touching tribute to his younger sister. Alongside a childhood photograph of Caroline, he wrote: "This will be my last post here. May those who know feel shame for eternity. Love you Caroline."

The message remained the final post on his Instagram account.

A provisional post-mortem examination gave Paul's cause of death as cardiac arrest due to hanging.

Following Caroline's death, the Flack family became increasingly vocal about the devastating impact of their loss and spoke publicly about the challenges surrounding her final months.

Paul later appeared alongside his mother, Christine, and sister, Elizabeth, in the 2021 documentary Caroline Flack: Her Life and Death . The programme explored the presenter's life, her mental health struggles and the profound effect her death had on those closest to her.

Since then, Christine Flack has campaigned for changes to the way vulnerable people are treated by the criminal justice system, the media and online platforms.

The family's annual Flackstock festival has also continued to celebrate Caroline's life while raising money for mental health charities and encouraging people to seek support when they need it.
