Holly Hagan names baby daughter in tribute to late sister in emotional statement

Geordie Shore's Holly Hagan has named her newborn daughter Madison-Darci in memory of her late sister Darci, who tragically died aged 19, with fellow reality TV stars flooding her with congratulations

Holly Hagan-Blyth has revealed the poignant significance behind her newborn daughter's name. The reality TV personality and her husband, Jacob Blyth, welcomed their second child together last week.

Earlier today, Holly announced that she's named her daughter in honour of her younger sister, Darci. Last year, aged just 19, Darci became unwell and suffered a cardiac arrest during a night out in Manchester. It subsequently transpired that Darci Rose Gibson had mixed the drug crystal MDMA into her drink.

Tragically, Darci passed away 48 hours after becoming ill. But now, her memory continues to live on through her niece, whom Holly has named Madison-Darci.

Holly and Jackson shared the touching news of Madison's name, alongside an adorable picture of the newborn lying in her crib at home, with her name stitched into a knitted babygro. "Beautiful name for a beautiful little girl, huge congratulations," said Scarlett Moffatt.

Charlotte Crosby, Holly's close friend and former Geordie Shore co-star added: "Beautiful just so beautiful! Darci is proud of punch watching over you all. I can't wait to meet her." Fellow Geordie Shore star, Nathan Henry penned: "I can't wait to meet her. She's so precious.", reports the Mirror.

Sophie Kasaei responded: "The most amazing precious little girl. Her name is everything, and we know Darci will always be watching over. I'm so proud of you both and I can't wait to meet her." Zahida Allen wrote: "She is beyond precious! Congratulations Holly and Blythy! What a beautiful way to honour your sister Darci. Love you all."

Over the weekend, Holly disclosed that she'd welcomed another child and informed her followers that while she was "tired" both mother and baby were doing brilliantly. She said: "She's here safe and well. I'm so tired but absolutely fine and guys.. she latched instantly."

The celebrity opted for a planned caesarean section with her second child, who joins big brother Alpha-Jax. She kept her supporters informed throughout the day via her social media with updates about the delivery.

Earlier Holly revealed she was at the hospital awaiting her caesarean, confessing on her Instagram Stories that "pushing a child out of my vagina just isn't for me". The reality personality also mentioned she prefers having things organised beforehand, explaining: "I liked to know things are planned and out of my control."

Darci was included throughout the birth of her niece, with Holly wearing her late sister's Crocs

Holly was delighted to respond to numerous fans' enquiries as she awaited her new bundle of joy. Teasing her baby's name, she described it as "the prettiest name ever", but refrained from disclosing what she and Jacob had decided to call their daughter.

Her daughter provides a delightful sibling for Holly's son, Alpha Jax. The beaming mum posted a picture of her son before the little one arrived with a doll on his lap dressed as a king as she revealed: "He's so excited! Currently practising his holding skills with a dolly."

After responding to her followers' queries, Holly posted a picture of herself and Jacob in their hospital attire, with the caption: "It's happening!"
