I'm A Celeb turns up the heat on returning stars Beverley Callard and Mo Farrah

The South African climate was a major pull for returning stars of I'm A Celeb while Scarlett Moffat wants to give hosts Ant & Dec a big hug for their roast dinners

Returning stars of Im A CelebritySouth Africa couldn't wait to go back as it promises to be much hotter than their last stint in Wales.


Former Coronation street favourite Beverley Callard and Olympian Mo Farah both competed in the 2020 edition of the ITV show which had to relocate from Australia to chilly Gwrych Castle in Abergele, North Wales, due to Covid-19 travel restrictions. Ahead of next week's big kick-off, 68-year-old Callard recalls the temperature of her bedroom being "minus one degree, so she is looking forward to the warmer climate in South Africa.


I'm a Celebrity...South Africa features a harsher, more unpredictable climate than the Australian jungle, often leading to extreme heat and heavy rainfall.

Distance runner Farah, 42, also has memories of Wales being "very cold", adding: "Being in South Africa is going to be different. It's sunny, warm, and as soon as I got the call inviting me, I knew I wanted to be part of the series.

Football manager Harry Redknapp, champion boxer David Haye, former Pussycat Doll Ashley Roberts and comedian Seann Walsh will also feature in the second series of I'm A Celebrity All Stars.


Theyll be joined by Gogglebox legend Scarlett Moffatt wants to give hosts Ant & Dec a "big hug as a thank you for cooking her roast dinners when she first found fame.

The Geordie star, who is from Co Durham, said: "When I first moved to London, they were so lovely and asked me what I missed most about being away from home.

"I said: 'Sunday dinners with the family'. They invited me round a few times to have dinner. They are lovely people.

"They say 'don't meet your heroes', but when your heroes are them it's OK. I can't wait to give them a big hug."

She also revealed her ideal campmate would be reality star Gemma Collins, who appeared on the show in 2014 but quit after three days as she struggled with the environment.

The GC is tipped to make a delayed entrance' in the new series and Moffatt said: "She left early and I feel it is always good when people don't finish something to then give them another chance."

The new series kicks off April 6 on ITV.
