Reeves contract for sequels The Matrix Reloaded and The Matrix Revolutions offered up a significant pay cut for the actor, so that some of his salary could be used for better costumes and special effects in the films.

After he was cast in the 1997 movie The Devils Advocate, Reeves found out that Al Pacino wasnt able to work on the project due to the films budget.

Reeves, however, was so eager to work with the legendary actor that he took another sizeable pay cut. And then his dream became a reality.
