Former Emmerdale actor Kelvin Fletcher and his wife Liz departed their Oldham residence for a 120-acre farm in the Peak District back in 2020. Throughout the past three years, they've provided viewers with a candid glimpse into their domestic life and the demands of managing a working farm.
Fletcher's Family Farm has officially brought its ITV run to a close, with the fourth series concluding last Sunday, April 12. The final series proved particularly taxing for the household, showcasing considerable emotional and financial pressures.
Audiences witnessed devastating scenes, including the heartbreaking death of their cow, Cherry, and the ordeal of being displaced from their residence following a blaze. Following the broadcast of the show's final episode earlier this month, fans expressed their reactions after Kelvin and Liz shared: "Our last episode of the season aires today. You know what that calls for......cuppa tea time."
One response read: "I've loved watching, really looked forward to Sunday mornings to watch the next episode, will miss it!" A different viewer commented: "What a joy it is watching your lovely family on your amazing farm! The kids are having best lives, you show how great farm life is, roll on the next series, good luck getting your home ready to live in again, well done on another excellent series."
Other remarks included: "Have loved watching you all. You're such a lovely family. Hope there is more to come" and "Best show on TV Kelvin! You're not kidding! My Sunday mornings taken with a cup of coffee watching you guys will be sorely missed. Come back soon."
Additional responses featured: "What a joy it is watching your lovely family on your amazing farm! The kids are having best lives, you show how great farm life is, roll on the next series, good luck getting your home ready to live in again, well done on another excellent series.", reports the Liverpool Echo.
During an appearance on Lorraine last year, the married pair discussed farm life with Kelvin revealing to Lorraine: "It's a life we could never have envisioned." Following his departure from his role as Andy Sugden and stint on Strictly Come Dancing, Kelvin had intended to relocate to Hollywood with his family, but the scheme collapsed when the Covid pandemic struck.
Kelvin and Liz revealed they cannot picture life being any different to how it currently stands. The Fletcher clan reside on the farm alongside their children Marnie, Milo, and twins Mateusz and Maximus. The farm remains privately owned and is not presently accessible to the general public on a daily basis.
Following the series conclusion, a message shared on the official Fletcher's on the farm Instagram account read: "Your love for this show has truly brought us so much happiness and perspective during what's been a challenging year.
"We're no different to you, through life's ups and downs, what truly matters is each other. And our little family feels so welcomed, supported, and connected to you all. Whether you've been watching the show, following along online, or even purchasing one of our blankets, we're genuinely so grateful."
The touching message went on: "A huge thank you to the amazing team behind the scenes, you capture our little lives so seamlessly and make the most beautiful show, a show we are extremely proud of and something we will forever be grateful for. What a team. Finally, thank you to ITV for believing in our journey."
ITV has now confirmed the programme that will immediately replace the Fletchers' popular show in the Sunday morning line-up. Starting today, Josies Taste of the West Country will air at 11.30am, featuring Josie Gibson's culinary tour of the Gloucestershire region, including a segment with Adam Henson.
