The Odyssey star Matt Damon calls Ben Affleck Bromance a 'great love of my life'

Matt Damon has labelled his best friend Ben Affleck one of the great loves of his life.

The Bromance began between the actors as kids in Cambridge, Massachusetts and has survived longer than all of Affleck's marriages.

Damon paid to tribute to his Oscar-winning pal: "Weve been through a whole hell of a lot together, and hes one of the great loves of my life, I will say about Ben."

He's also finds Affleck handsome and when shown a snap of him commented: Look at that dashing picture of him. Hes really giving Blue Steel in that one, referencing Ben Stillers pose in Zoolander.

In return Affleck called Damon up to congratulate him after viewing his latest movie, The Odyssey.

Damon explained: I got a phone call from him that I think Ive been waiting 45 years to get.

He didnt stop talking for an hour. It was like hed seen the movie 20 times. He got absolutely everything. Every detail. He somehow soaked it all in in one viewing.

The pair have worked on many movies together, but have become even closer in recent years as fathers. Both stars have children who are becoming adults and Damon revealed: "Were at very similar stages with the kids, and its definitely a new phase of life."

"It doesnt take much to get us emotional at this point."

Damon and Ben Affleck, who started the production company Artists Equity together in 2022, are trying to maximise their time with their family as a result.

Dad-of-four-daughters Damon said, "I feel like we are facing it and embracing the fact that its happening."

"Weve been talking a lot about presence and about really trying to be in the moment, and because you cant slow time down, the only way to really do it is to really be there and be in it."
