A Place In The Sun star Laura Hamilton has smitten fans sending her 'marriage proposals'

Hosting telly hit A Place In The Sun has made Laura Hamilton very hot property indeed. Since joining the show 14 years ago, shes become a favourite among plenty of viewers.

In fact, some love her so much theyre ready to marry her. Laura often gets messages on social media and a lot of them are flirty. She says: People are so nice on social media. I get some messages that surprise me a bit, though.

I get people who say things like, Can you help me find a house? Ill leave my wife at home! That makes me laugh.

Laura also gets pestered by eager fans when shes out and about. I get recognised quite a bit, she reveals. Its nice when people come up to me because it means they love the show.

If anyone sends her anything rude, she takes no notice whatsoever. I try not to get hooked up on what is being said about me online, she says.

Ultimately, I do what I do and some people will like it and some people dont. I dont think theres much point in reading negativity. If I see anything like that, I just delete it. If you havent got anything nice to say, dont say anything.

Laura is so popular that she even gets accosted by viewers at 39,000ft. She says: Whenever Im on a flight, people will look at me and try to work out where theyve seen me before. Because were in the air for a few hours, they have time to realise its me!

Recently I was on a flight and a man came over to me and said, Weve just put an offer in on a house can we show you?. He got out his phone and started showing me photos of the property. He was nervous to talk to me but I said, Dont me silly, people can always come up to me to talk about property.

Laura is also a big hit with estate agents. Working on A Place In The Sun has made her an expert in buying property. She says: Estate agents love the show. We are helping them sell their properties, so theyre always grateful for us.

When I see an estate agent in the UK about a property they always say, Why are you seeing us when you know so much about property?

A Place In The Sun is one of the longest-running shows on the box. Its been a firm fixture in Channel 4s daytime schedule for more than a quarter of a century.

In that time, thousands of Brits hoping to make their dreams a reality have been helped by the show. It sounds like a cliche but you do get to change peoples lives with this show, says Laura.

You spend five days with people and youre part of their journey. You really get to know them over the course of filming. Its an amazing show to be part of.

Over the years, the show has racked up plenty of awards and remains a big hit. Laura added: I think the show is popular because it of escapism, accessibility and its feel-food. Everyone wants sunshine and blue skies. Ive been on the show for 14 years. I love people and I love property and I love travel. So the show offers the perfect ingredients and mix for me.

Unsurprisingly, Laura is keen to keep fronting the show for a long time to come. Im just grateful that Im still part of the family, she admits. Im not going anywhere. Ill be filming it all of this year Im doing 18 episodes, so Ive got a busy year ahead. As long as they keep asking me back, I will keep doing the show.

Laura isnt just known to viewers of A Place In The Sun. In the past shes had successful stints on reality shows including Dancing on Ice and The Jump. Theres one more show shed love to try and it involves wearing a very silly outfit.

Id love to do The Masked Singer, she admits. I love singing. I did panto for 10 years playing Cinderella with Stephen Gately and Steve Guttenberg and Bradley Walsh and I really love singing. I havent had a call just yet!
