A Place In The Sun host Jasmine Harman has posted a touching tribute to a cherished friend, identified only as SD. The Channel 4 star received an outpouring of support following her sorrowful announcement.
Using Instagram, the mother-of-two shared a heartbreaking message lamenting "another soul lost to cancer ". In her emotional tribute, Jasmine, 50, posted an image of a tree-lined verdant walkway whilst voicing her sorrow over the bereavement.
She revealed that her close friend had passed away after battling cancer. She penned: "Today, we bid farewell to a friend. Another beautiful soul lost to cancer. Leaving behind a wonderful, loving family. A beloved wife and five very special children. Friends. Relatives. Colleagues. Cherished memories which will be treasured forever. RIP SD."
Jasmine continued: "You have left an enormous hole in the hearts of those who love you. As only someone with such a huge personality could."
The television presenter included the hashtags "#gonebutneverforgotten #lifeisshort #playmore.", reports the Mirror.
Jasmine's 258,000 Instagram followers swiftly flooded the comments with sympathies, with one posting: "Sending you so much love and strength lovely lady. Thoughts are with you and with the family."
Another commented: "So sorry and love and blessings to you and her family."
Fans gathered around Jasmine with one posting: "So very sorry to hear this Jasmine. Thoughts are with you and your dearest friends and family."
The heartbreaking announcement arrives just two years following the death of Jasmine's colleague and mate Jonnie Irwin, the popular property specialist from Channel 4's A Place In The Sun and the BBC's Escape to the Country.
The cherished presenter passed away in February 2024 after fighting brain cancer, leaving behind his wife and young children. Jonnie had received a terminal diagnosis in 2020 after cancer had spread from his lungs to his brain.
His wife said in a statement: "In Loving Memory. It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of Jonnie's passing. A truly remarkable soul, he fought bravely against cancer with unwavering strength and courage.
"Jonnie touched the lives of so many with his kindness, warmth, and infectious spirit. At this time, we kindly ask for the privacy of Jonnie's family as they navigate through this profound loss. Their grief is immeasurable, and your thoughts, prayers, and support are deeply appreciated."
Jessica added: "As we remember the beautiful moments shared with Jonnie, let us celebrate a life well-lived and a legacy that will forever be etched in our hearts. Jonnie may be gone from our sight, but his love, laughter, and memories will live on. Rest in peace, dear Jonnie. You will be dearly missed, but never forgotten."
