TV host Richard Hammond has shared an update on his friend Jeremy Clarkson's health. Earlier this year, the Clarkson's Farm star announced that he had been diagnosed with prostate cancer and had undergone treatment for the condition.

He subsequently revealed that he was in remission from the disease. The diagnosis and its impact were documented on his hit Amazon Prime series, Clarkson's Farm.

Richard, 56, was quizzed about the current health status of his 66-year-old former co-star during an appearance on Times Radio.

In response, he said: "I believe he's fine. It was some distance in the past, because obviously there's a time lag between when the show happened and when they're seen on the show. But no I believe he's very well, he's still irritating, all of those things. Generally speaking it means he's alive."

Earlier this summer, upon revealing both his diagnosis and his remission status, Jeremy, 66, told The Times just how close he came to the situation worsening.

He stated: "I am without a doubt, officially, the world's luckiest man. It was an aggressive type of cancer. It could have spread, it could have gone into the pancreas, it could have gone anywhere, and that would have been trouble."

Later, in a video shared on his Instagram page, he added: "You will have noticed that I'm not dead. The reason why I'm fine is because the doctors caught the prostate cancer early, and they caught it early because I got tested."

Jeremy's cancer diagnosis comes after the presenter underwent heart surgery in 2024 to clear blocked arteries with stents.

Since his cancer revelation, he has helped boost awareness of prostate cancer and urged more men to get themselves examined. While Richard hasn't provided any significant update on his own wellbeing, he has mentioned he continues to live with the aftermath of his jet car smash nearly 20 years ago in 2006.

Richard was behind the wheel of a Vampire jet car at Elvington Airfield in Yorkshire when the front right tyre burst at nearly 300mph, launching him off the runway and onto the grass. He subsequently fell into a coma after sustaining a frontal lobe brain injury.

The former Grand Tour host later revealed that he was experiencing something called "lost key syndrome" which some suggested could be his way of describing dysexecutive syndrome. This relates to a condition linked with frontal lobe damage.

Describing how his daily routine altered a few years back, Richard told LADBible: "I think anybody who's suffered a brain injury will probably agree that it never leaves you in the sense that there's always a little bit of you [confused] if you lose your car keys or you forget something.

"Mine was a frontal lobe injury, which would explain that. I'm left thinking, 'Oh no. Is that because of the brain injury? Or is it because I'm now 54? Is it just because I've lost my keys? The doctors actually call it 'lost key syndrome' and it goes on and on."
