Robbie Williams has revealed the secret critic behind his new music who determines the track listing and singles from new albums and it's not who you think it's his gardener.
The Angels hitmaker admits he sometimes decides which songs make the cut on his records based on the reaction of those available to him, including the person whos tending to his plants. Robbie joked that if a track fails to get much of a response from his staff then it could end up ditched from the record entirely.
The 52-year-old confessed: "Thats why I get the track listings either wrong or right, because its [played to] whoever is around.
"And thats why some things can get left off an album because I played it and I think it didnt go down very well in front of the gardener, seriously, like oh he didnt respond to that one, oh thats not going on.
Robs latest album BRITPOP features somebody who knows the music industry far better than his gardener, Chris Martin.
He revealed their collaboration Human came about after the Coldplay frontman feared for Robbie following the release of his Netflix docuseries.
"I think Chris reached out after the documentary came out, to see if I was OK, hes a very nice man and I think he does that with a lot of people."
Robbies four-part series covered his early successes, failures and demons - And Chris wasnt the only person that was worried about him after watching it.
The former Take That star added on the Robbie Williams Rewind podcast: "The thing that may have confused people with the Netflix [special] which Im finding is, it was very successful, went really, really well.
"But I think what I didnt do with the Netflix documentary was wrap it up and go, no, that was then, this is now, and I am ace now."
