Sam Thompson breaks silence on ex Zara McDermott's relationship with Louis Tomlinson

Sam Thompson has revealed how he really feels about ex Zara McDermott's new boyfriend Louis Tomlinson

Sam Thompson has given his thoughts on his ex Zara McDermott's relationship with Louis Tomlinson for the first time. It comes as Zara and Louis celebrate their first anniversary together.

Sam, 33, infamously split from the Love Island babe, 29, in 2024 in a move that left fans floored. The split had come after five years of bliss together, with seemingly no cracks in their loving relationship.

But just a couple of months after ending things, Zara confirmed she was dating One Direction superstar Louis Tomlinson in March last year. Now, a year on from the announcement, Sam has finally let fans know what he really thinks about his ex's new relationship.

On Thursday morning (April 9), I'm A Celebrity winner Sam told listeners everything whilst hosting his Hits Radio Breakfast Show, according to the Daily Mail. He opened up on what he really thinks about the new pair after being pushed for an answer from a listener.

During one segment on his show, Sam had asked his listeners to get in touch, asking him about absolutely anything. One listener decided to stir the pot and asked him how he felt about Strictly star Zara dating the musician.

The caller, named Holly, left the presenter speechless as she posed the brutal question to his audience live on-air. She asked: "How do you feel about playing the song from One Direction, Steal My Girl, knowing that one of the 1D boys did actually steal your girl?"

A visibly flustered Sam took several seconds to respond to the question, scrambling to find an answer for Holly. Making it clear to the audience he was not sure what to say, Sam stumbled: "Holly, I am live on air!

"How do I feel? First of all, and I mean this when I say it, it's a brilliant song. I still listen to it on the tube."

He continued: "I know that sounds weird, but I listen to it on the tube all the time. I don't actually feel weird about it because I feel quite happy as long as everyone else is happy."

Trying to maintain his composure, he added: "I think everyone has found their person, and I think that's really, really nice. And I've actually met said guy, and he seems like a really nice dude, so I feel pretty good about it, to be fair. And it is an absolute banger. Everyone is looking for love, you know."

Louis and Zara have been happily loved-up for a year since going public with their relationship last March. Since then, the pair have shared a year full of lovely memories together spending their first Christmas together in the luxurious Caribbean.

And Zara even travelled with him to Denmark as part of his entourage for his world tour. Welling up as he took to the stage at the KB Hallen in Copenhagen, Zara shared a snap of Louis performing to crowds to promote his new album, How Did I Get Here?

But this is just the tip of the iceberg for Zara's dedication, as she recently admitted in an Instagram Q&A that she would not be able to live without him. Asked by a fan on the three things that she could not get through life without, she responded: "I'd have to say my family, my friends and my bf of course!"
