Sky News issued a breaking news alert regarding its programming after Donald Trump appeared to disclose details of a private discussion with King Charles during his American visit.
The US President made these remarks while delivering a speech about global conflicts, touching on current Middle Eastern tensions and Iran's nuclear aspirations. In an unexpected turn, Trump suggested the monarch endorsed his tough stance.
He declared: "Charles agrees with me even more than I do... We're never going to let that opponent have a nuclear weapon." The comment seemed to reference Iran, with Trump maintaining that the nation would be prevented from developing nuclear capabilities.
Speaking more generally about international collaboration, he stated: "This inexhaustible supply of ambition ingenuity and resolve, from the trenches of World War One, to the beaches of Normandy, from the frozen hills of Korea, to the scorching Sands of North Africa and the Middle East, and we're doing a little Middle East work right now.
"You might know, and we're doing very well, we have militarily defeated that particular opponent and we're never going to let that opponent ever, Charles agrees with me even more than I do, we're never gonna let that opponent have a nuclear weapon.
"They know that and they've known it right now very powerfully."
Trump also looked back on the enduring partnership between Britain and America, highlighting previous conflicts and shared heritage.
"Our countries have stood together defiant and triumphant against the forces of communism, fascism and tyranny," he said.
These remarks have caused a stir, as it's customary for members of the Royal Family to maintain political neutrality and refrain from voicing opinions on international policy.
Buckingham Palace has yet to comment on these assertions, and it remains uncertain what was privately discussed between the King and the President during the state visit.
Charles is presently in the US with Queen Camilla on an official journey intended to bolster diplomatic relations between the two nations, reports the Express.
