New Strictly Come Dancing contestant Will Best is having to get used to criticism early after he was compared to rubber faced Hollywood star Jim Carey during the first rehearsals for the new series.
The Hits Radio Breakfast Show host has never done ballroom dancing before, and the pros were perhaps a little harsh while offering a few pointers when they saw his moves - and facial expressions - during the first dance masterclass.
Best opened up about what happened: "They were seeing what the chemistry was like between the celebs and the pros to see who you might get paired with.
"Two of the female pros commented on my dancing face, I didnt realise that I dance more with my face than with my legs, and two of them separately and unprompted said Its like dancing with Jim Carrey in The Mask. Two of them said the exact same thing!!"
Smokin'!
Will, who also hosts Big Brother, revealed how the first day panned out on the hit BBC show and how welcoming everyone had been, despite the Jim Carey comment.
Will told the Hits Radio Breakfast Show: "We had our first official day and it was really sweet. All the team, the producers did little speeches talking about how its a big family and everyones really nice and it did feel like that
.
"I learnt a lot about myself in terms of how I dance - its obviously the first day Id done any ballroom dancing, and the pros were there and we were doing little dance masterclasses with them."
All the celebs got to show off their best moves and then they got to work with different pro dancers but he's keeping his partner a secret for now.
He spilled: "The male celebs would stand in a circle facing outwards and the female pros would dance with each of you really quickly for a few seconds, a few bars, and then they move on to the next person going round in these circles."
Perhaps his partner should be a Cameron Diaz lookalike, who co-starred with Jim Carey in The Mask?
Strictly Come Dancing returns to BBC One and BBC iPlayer this September for its new series. The launch show is recorded on September 9, with the broadcast expected to air mid-September 2026
