Richard Ayoade has been involved in a horrific car crash that has left two people taken to hospital. He was not responsible for the crash, but instead was one of the victims of the incident.
The IT Crowd star, 49, had been driving his car in East Dulwich in southeast London when the crash allegedly took place on Saturday afternoon (June 13). Police were soon called to the area, as a livid Richard was seen liaising with officers about what happened.
Eyewitnesses said that two people walking along the street were knocked down in the moments before the crash. The Metropolitan Police are now investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
According to the Sun, a Renault car had been "speeding" through the roads of East Dulwich when the crash took place. The Disenchantment star was then seen getting out of his car, holding his neck at a roundabout.
In the moments before the crash, people at the scene claimed that the Renault had hit a woman before smashing into Richard's car and hitting another person in the process. Richard's Mercedes SUV appeared to sustain damage to the front right section of the car, but was not totalled.
Officers arrived on the scene just before 5pm to cordon the area off for investigations. Both cars were eventually towed away, whilst the two women who were knocked down were taken to hospital to be treated for their injuries.

An eyewitness said: "The Renault came speeding along the road and hit a woman she ended up on the other side of the roundabout. Then the Renault hit Richard Ayoades car.
"It smashed straight into the side of his vehicle and then managed to hit another woman," the witness went on to add. "We heard one of the pedestrians who was hit screaming and crying."
In a statement, the London Ambulance Service said: "We treated two women at the scene before taking them to a major trauma centre." Police looking into the case said that the two victims did not suffer any injuries that were life-threatening nor life-changing.
Richard was also seen speaking to police in the aftermath of the crash. The Daily Star has reached out to Richard's representatives for comment.
Known for his awkward, nerdy style, Richard first shot onto our screens as Maurice Moss on Channel 4 hit The IT Crowd. This quickly propelled him to international fame, as he won a BAFTA for his portrayal of the legendary character.
Since then, he has developed his comedy further and landed himself stints in a slew of other shows, including Travel Man and Last One Laughing. He has also taken on presenting duties, fronting the revival of The Crystal Maze.
