One child star looked totally unrecognisable as he was arrested for shoplifting goods from a US supermarket.

Adam Wylie looked a far cry from his days starring in Picket Fences between 1992 and 1996, as Zachary Brock. He also appeared in everything from The King and I to Lucifer, and was still acting until 2022.

Now, however, hes reportedly found himself in murky waters after allegedly stealing $108 worth of goods from a Target store in Bubank, Califiornia. The now 39-year-old is said to have only scanned some of the items in his cart at the self-checkout area, before heading to his vehicle with the stolen goods. His basket mainly consisted of health and beauty products.

Convictions of petty theft in California carry sentences of up to six months in jail, up to $1,000 in fines, or both jail time and a fine.

Nowadays, Adam is looking very different from his days as a child actor. At a recent appearance, he wowed in a royal blue suit comprised of smart trousers and a matching blazer. Underneath, he donned a pale blue shirt with a matching floral tie and buttons on each lapel, sporting a ginger beard and combed back hair.

Its a very different look from his child acting days, sporting a traditional bowl cut. He now boasts more than 1.4million followers on TikTok and works as a magician as well as an actor.

He shot to fame after appearing in a candy commercial aged just four, and went on to land roles in The Swan Princess and All Dogs Go to Heaven 2 a couple of years after. Hes also appeared on Broadway, starring in Stephen Sondheims Into the Woods on stage.

He won a Young Artist Award for Picket Fences and one for Dennis the Menace, and scooped two YoungStar Awards across his vibrant career.

Wylie hasnt opened up about the alleged incident on social media, which comes just a few months after the tragic death of Picket Fences producer Geoffrey Neigher. Neigher passed away aged 78 in August 2023, at his Hancock Park home in Los Angeles. The cause of death was given as complications from cancer, according to his wife Karen.
