Ebanie Bridges' lingerie dilemma as boxing beauty confesses 'it was very hard'

Boxing beauty Ebanie Bridges admits she was a "little bit nervous" for her comeback weigh-in - despite packing three sets of lingerie for her fight.

The fan favourite, 39, made her long-awaited return to the ring in January in a losing effort to Alexis Araiza Mones, after taking time away from the squad circle to start a family with British boxing icon Kell Brook.

And while she was excited for the fight, the former IBF female bantamweight world champion confessed to Daily Star Sport she didnt feel the same about the weigh-in. Pre-fight festivities have become a key part of Bridges bouts - especially the chance to show off her stunning physique during the weigh-in.

As a former bodybuilder, Bridges is no stranger to parading around in skimpy underwear - and her jaw-dropping stunts on the scales have commanded as much attention as her skill inside the ring over the years.

And after touching down in Puerto Rico earlier this year, the Aussie bombshell was spoiled for choice when selecting her attire. However, some unusual pre-fight nerves took over for her first bout in over two years.

"Maybe just a little bit," she told Daily Star Sport when asked if there were any nerves ahead of the weigh-in. "Nowhere near as much nerves as for the fight. I was probably excited for that!

"It's funny because I started this whole weigh-in thing, the lingerie, and I started making it a thing, like a little mini event for me, because of my bodybuilding past.

"So I always made a weigh-in a thing. And then it gained momentum, and other girls started doing it, which is great. But then MVP went the whole next level and did a whole ceremonial weigh-in, and it was like a proper show, dress rehearsal walking out.

"I was like, 'Oh no, this is really putting the pressure on me!' I just wanted to do my own thing and be cute, that's all. But here we are."

She added: "I started that s*** and they just took it to the next f***ing level. Now everyone is doing it and I feel like I'm competing against everyone now for the weigh-ins!"

The Blonde Bomber continued: "It was very hard to pick my outfit. I didn't get it until the night before. I had so many options.

"I took three sets thinking, you know. And then they filmed the actual weigh-in. Usually, that first weigh-in is in a hotel, and you just rock up looking scruffy in your undies and get on the scales...

"And this one was like, 'Oh my God, this is all filmed as well'. So you have to look good for that too. It was intense, but it was good!"

Inside the hotel, Bridges had opted for a pink set, while, for the official ceremony, she stunned in a matching red two-piece.

Bridges shared the footage on social media, but the cropped footage showed a security guard trying to look anywhere but at the Australian fighter.

Unfortunately, it wouldn't be the dream return Bridges wanted, yet some time has allowed her to reflect and be proud of her comeback, after so long out of the ring and juggling training with the demands of motherhood.

Bridges has admitted she "wasn't ready" physically for the clash against American fighter Mones, who secured a victory on points by unanimous decision.

But she said: "I dont fight to get a participation award. I fight to win. If I dont succeed, it just makes me think I have to keep going until I succeed. So I'm back out again soon."
