Tyson Fury's mammoth new net worth pales in comparison to Anthony Joshua

Physically, there is barely anything distinguishing Tyson Fury from Anthony Joshua. Financially, though, the contrast is far more pronounced.

The pair of British heavyweight stars are finally set to face each other later this year, with a huge showdown between the two earmarked for November. But although the much-hyped 'Battle of Britain' will decide who reigns supreme in the ring, the contest over personal fortunes already looks settled.

Even after dominating the heavyweight scene for much of the last decade, Fury still trails AJ financially. According to the 2026 Sunday Times Rich List, Joshua's wealth is estimated at 240million, whereas Fury's fortune stands at 162m.

That figure represents a massive jump for Joshua, whose net worth was said to stand at around 195m only 12 months ago. A large portion of the increase has come from his headline-grabbing bout with Jake Paul in December, which reportedly banked him an eye-watering 70m.

Because of this, he now ranks as the third-richest active British athlete, sitting behind Formula 1 great Sir Lewis Hamilton (435m) and golf superstar Rory McIlroy (325m).

A key factor behind Joshua's financial success is his highly refined branding strategy. While Fury has consistently marketed himself as a down-to-earth 'man of the people,' Joshua has crafted a public profile resembling a global business empire more than a traditional boxer.

AJ's business portfolio features numerous profitable, long-standing deals with major international brands such as Under Armour, Hugo Boss and Land Rover.

Together with the massive fight purses collected during his career - especially from his two-bout rivalry against Oleksandr Usyk and his dominant knockout win over Francis Ngannou - those endorsement deals have significantly boosted his overall wealth.

Fury's income is equally striking, although most of it has come directly from fight purses rather than sponsorship deals. The Gypsy King is believed to have pocketed roughly 42m from his trilogy against Deontay Wilder, while his two high-profile encounters with Usyk in 2024 reportedly earned him well above 150m.
