Luke Littler opens up on childlike way he'll look to spend 200k darts winnings

Luke Littler has revealed he isn't planning a massive spending splurge after winning 200,000 by reaching the World Darts Championship final

Luke Littler has given more details on how he intends to spend his winnings from the World Darts Championship.


The 16-year-old sensation lit up Alexandra Palace with his blockbusting displays over the last three weeks. He came up just short in the final, losing 7-4 to world number one Luke Humphries, but his story has transcended the sport, which has legion of new fans hooked.


Given his age, Littler has regularly been asked how he intends to spend his winnings. Earlier in the tournament he said trips to Alton Towers and Blackpool with his mates were on the cards.

As runner-up, the Warrington teenager pocketed a whopping 200,000, although its almost sliced in half once tax and national insurance is taken off. During a flurry of media interviews this morning (Thursday), Xbox player Littler told Good Morning Britain he would be topping up his points on the FC 24 football game, the franchise known as FIFA until recently.

No idea! Ill spend a fair few bit on [FIFA points], he told Ben Shepherd and Susanna Reid.

Littler, who turns 17 this month, stands to earn a lot more this year, his first on the PDC Tour. One big payday could be provided by the Premier League, which offers 1million in prize money over its 17 weeks. Fans will learn whether Littler has been selected this afternoon (Thursday).

The tournament kicks off in Cardiff on February 1 and concludes with the play-offs at Londons O2 at the end of May.
