The Daily Star: News with a Wink

Kim Kardashian 'told don't speak to Martin Brundle' before snubbing 'provocative' F1 icon

Kim Kardashian stole the show at the Monaco Grand Prix

Kim Kardashian was allegedly told not to speak to Martin Brundle when she snubbed an interview with the F1 icon on his Monaco Grand Prix gridwalk.

The reality TV star stole the show in Monte Carlo as she supported seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton as their romance continues to blossom. Kim, 45, has been linked with the Ferrari legend for months but appeared to take their relationship public on Instagram before rocking up in the Principality.

Kims attendance added a completely different dimension to the race weekend that is regarded as the jewel in F1s crown and Sky Sports were incredibly eager to get a few words from her before Sundays race.

Brundle was conducting his customary gridwalk when he headed to the VIP section where Kim was standing with her sister Khloe and security. The 67-year-old approached her for a quick chat but was shut down.

However, Kim turned away from Brundle and was given advice by one of her entourage about how to navigate the awkward situation. Kim then put her hand up to Brundle and turned away again as one of her security holding an umbrella shook his head at the former racer.

Speaking to OLBG, body language expert Darren Stanton believes Kim was warned not to speak to Brundle due to his provoking nature, he analysed: It's a really interesting interaction, actually, because if you notice, that guy comes into shot from the right of the screen.

I think he's given Kim Kardashian the heads up not to say anything because Martin Brundle can be a little bit provocative. He's quite verbose, he can be in people's faces a little bit.

I would suspect she was told not to speak to the media, whether it's Lewis Hamilton or somebody else, I'm just surmising this based on the interactions that I saw and also her reaction because body language-wise, she was walking towards Martin.

Her body posture was pointed towards him as if she was going to speak to him, but then as soon as that guy came into shots and whispered in her ear, if you notice, she turned her posture back towards the direction she was going.

That would be consistent with her body language and her reaction, because initially she appeared as though she was going to speak to Martin Brundle, and then it wasn't until he came into shot, which interrupted her pattern.

I just think she was downplaying herself. If anything, I don't think she was playing to the cameras.

Some may say that's nervousness, but I personally think she was just downplaying her presence to the press and the paparazzi, keeping her head down, she wasn't engaging with the press to make sure she doesn't hijack Lewis limelight because, obviously, he's the main man.

Kims appearance added an extra spark of inspiration for Hamilton as he claimed a second consecutive second place finish to climb up to second in the World Championship standings, albeit 66 points behind leader Kimi Antonelli.

Hamilton and Kim shared an embrace before the Brit went up to the podium. As he celebrated, Kim proudly filmed him receiving his record-equalling eighth podium trophy in Monaco.
