Alisha Lehmann revealed that she begged her mum to let her quit football following abuse from online trolls.
The 27-year-old has been dubbed the worlds sexiest footballer and is the most followed female player on social media, but she admitted that all of that nearly didnt happen. Lehmann made her name in the WSL at West Ham, Everton and Aston Villa and returned to England earlier this year with Leicester City.
Lehmann also became the first boyfriend-girlfriend transfer in 2024 when she and then-partner Douglas Luiz left Villa to join Juventus. She later joined Como at the start of the year.

The Swiss international is a global star thanks to her social media activity as well as her football talent. However, her large platform has made her a target for abuse by online trolls.
Lehmann admitted that she would regularly ask her mother about quitting football completely after her passion was taken away. She told the BBC: When I was younger, it affected me more because I didnt know how to handle the situation.
There were moments where I was really sad and I used to ask my mum if I could not play football anymore. Football is the thing I love the most and its what I have put the most time into.
I rest so well, I sleep every afternoon and I would never do anything before training or a game that would affect how I play. I care so much about it.
People dont know how much effort I actually put in when they say Oh, shes not a footballer. But now, Im fine. I love my life and the people around me and I dont get affected by it.
The Swiss superstar also opened up about the misconceptions about her after signing for Leicester: "No of course, it's really sad sometimes. Because my family and my friends, they know how I am and I'm the first person that cares about everyone before myself - like always. Sometimes, it's really frustrating because they don't see the work!
"Like they just think 'oh she just goes to training and then she goes home and does TikToks or whatever'... And that's really not true because I sleep every afternoon! I rest so well.
"For example, if I have training the next day I would never do something the day before that could affect my training or could affect the game.
