Sky Sports News went dark for fans this morning (October 4) as the broadcaster was forced to issue an apology.

Fans were tuned in ahead of the Saturday football fixtures only to be greeted to a holding screen of the Sky Sports News logo.

It is a very rare occurrence that the major sports broadcaster goes down.

Many fans were confused as they turned to social media to find out what was going on.

One X users said: "What's happening at @SkySportsNews? Been off air now for about 8 minutes...."

Another added: "Anyone else's Sky Sports News went Pete Tong?"

While a third commented: "Sky Sports News channel down?"

The broadcaster later apologised by placing a message about the situation on the channel.

Sky placed an apology on the broadcast that read: "We apologise for the temporary loss of our graphics service."

According to reports from viewers, Sky Sports News was down for around 15 minutes today.

Football fans are ready for another weekend of action today, following last night's Premier League game between Bournemouth and Fulham.

Antoine Semenyos double and a stunning strike from Justin Kluivert saw Bournemouth soar to second in the Premier League courtesy of 3-1 comeback win over Fulham at a rain-soaked Vitality Stadium.

Andoni Iraolas Cherries looked set to suffer a first top-flight defeat since the opening day of the season after the Cottagers soaked up the pressure to edge in front through Ryan Sessegnon.

But Semenyo produced a moment of magic to level in the 78th minute before substitute Kluivert further lit up a soggy south-coast encounter by lashing in from distance.

Semenyo sealed victory deep into added time by clinically finishing a counter-attack led by Ben Gannon-Doak.
