Danny Mills Jude Bellingham opinion branded genuinely crazy and fans cant believe it

Football fans couldn't believe what they were hearing after former Premier League ace Danny Mills expressed a rather controversial opinion about Real Madrid and England superstar Jude Bellingham

Jude Bellingham wouldn't get into Manchester City's midfield, according to Danny Mills.

The Real Madrid man has been on fire since making a 100million move to the Bernabeu last summer. He's scored 20 goals in 29 games in all competitions so far and has been thriving in an advanced midfield role which often sees him deployed as a false nine.

But Mills says he isn't sure Pep Guardiola would buy him if he had the chance. The former City and England defender argued that the likes of Kevin De Bruyne, Rodri and Phil Foden are undroppable and that Bellingham, in spite of his obvious talents, wouldn't be an automatic starter if he were a City player.

"If you offered Bellingham to Pep now I'm not sure he would take him," Mills, 46, said. "He doesn't fit into that midfield... would Pep buy him? He's got that incredible balance in midfield.

"He doesn't play ahead of Kevin De Bruyne. He doesn't play ahead of Rodri. He wouldn't play ahead of Bernardo Silva I don't think, not the way that City play."

Fellow pundit and former Aston Villa midfielder, Lee Hendrie hit back, saying: "What a bad shout that was. Pep wouldn't want Bellingham in his side? He's had the likes of [Ilkay] Gundogan in his side where he goes and plays forward and goes and gets goals."

Does Bellingham get into Man City's first team, and if so, who drops out to make room for him? Let us know in the comments section below.

Fans on X generally seemed to agree with Hendrie, with one user writing: "This [Mills' opinion] is genuinely crazy." Another said: "Danny Mills chatting absolute s***e, yet again."

A third moaned: "How is this a debate? Bellingham gets in any team on the planet," while a fourth added: "My brain hurts after watching this."

A fifth, however, argued that Mills had a point, noting: "Before we all jump down Danny Mills' throat, let's remember that Man City have arguably the best and most balanced midfield in the world. They don't need the goals Bellingham provides, and let's not forget that we're English so we're probably overrating Bellingham by 20% or so."
