'Gianni Infantino is a corrupt cockroach time to squish that bald fraud once and for all'

BRENT A GOB: This week, Harry's going after FIFA President FIFA's corrupt cockroach Gianni Infantino and Chelsea's snitching ways

Our man Harry Brent is fuming in his latest column

The fact that FIFA President Gianni Infantino is still clinging to his job after being caught trousers-down in a scheme that would make Manchester City's accountants blush is an absolute joke.

In any normal industry, he'd have been booted out faster than Wayne Rooney gets binned from a managerial job. Until now, his money-grubbing, Trump-licking antics were like Steve McManaman's commentary - basically unbearable, but something we tolerated through gritted teeth.

But after effectively trying to sell off pieces of the World Cup to the highest bidder so he can line his tailored pockets, he has to be hoofed into Row Z like nine out of 10 Liam Delap shots.

Football needs to rid itself of this slimy cockroach more desperately than Chelsea need to rid themselves of goalkeepers who couldn't catch a cold in a blizzard.

Infantino is to the phrase 'bald fraud' what Dan Burn is to locking down a one-goal lead in a World Cup knockout game - the undisputed Final Boss. And finishing him off is going to take a total team effort.

From the governing bodies and boardroom suits right down to the punters on the terraces - everyone needs to step up and keep the boot on his neck until his croaks.

Chelsea's slap on the wrist is a joke

Chelsea getting away with financial blue murder is the most unjustifiable thing to happen at Stamford Bridge since Danny Drinkwater got a move there.

Despite being accused of funnelling dodgy off-the-books backhanders to agents for over a decade, they've walked away effectively scot-free - all because the new regime snitched on the old one and begged the FA for a gold star.

Sure, incentivising honesty is important particularly at a club where John Terry still prowls around the car park waiting to test the fidelity of his colleagues' wives. But Letting Chelsea off the hook for self-reporting is madness - the sort of madness that makes you sign a one-armed 36-year-old Jordan Henderson to spearhead your top four push.

Their new owners might not be guilty, but anyone trying to argue that the club hasn't benefitted over the years is about as deluded as the folks who reckon Morgan Rogers is worth anything close to the 117million Chelsea paid for him.

They deserve a proper points deduction, not a 10m fine and a suspended transfer ban, which is the footballing equivalent of giving a bank robber a parking ticket for leaving his getaway car in a disabled spot, then letting him drive off with the loot.
