Sheffield has united around the family of 15-year-old Harvey Willgoose, who was stabbed to death at school, as former football heroes paid tribute.
Harvey died following an incident at All Saints Catholic High School in Sheffield on Monday. Police and paramedics were called to the scene but the teenager died a short time later. South Yorkshire Police said a 15-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of murder.
The teenager's death has left the country and the city in shock with tributes being left at Harveys school by friends and those connected with the teenager. Messages of support have also appeared on social media, including from ex-Sheffield United player Josh Pemberton.
Former Blades defender Pemberton sent his condolences to the family on X, he wrote: Its absolutely tragic, such a young life taken away in a moment of madness, from an Ex Blades I send my deepest condolences to his family.
Both sides of the city have come together to mourn Harveys tragic death, with former Sheffield Wednesday midfielder Carlton Palmer replying to Pembertons message with two broken heart emojis.
Pemberton began his career as a junior at Manchester United before he joined Rochdale and Crewe Alexandra. The defender joined Crystal Palace and played in the 1990 FA Cup final against United, which the Eagles lost in a replay.
