The stunning daughter of former Premier League star Hermann Hreidarsson has made her international football debut.

Hreidarsson was a crowd favourite during spells at Portsmouth, Charlton and Ipswich, and won 89 caps for Iceland. The apple hasn't fallen far from the tree, as his daughter, Ida Marin Hermannsdottir, has now also represented her country at senior level.

Ida Marin, 23, made her Iceland debut against Spain last week before featuring again in her country's 2-0 defeat by England women at Nottingham's City Ground, where her dad played numerous times during his career.

Ida Marin, a midfielder, played the full match against Spain and the first 63 minutes against England, where her proud father was watching from the stands.

She started out at Icelandic club Fylkir before moving to Valur and, in 2024, to FH (Fimleikafelag Hafnarfjordur), where her excellent form earned her an international call-up.

Away from the pitch, Ida Marin has built up a strong following on Instagram, where she has more than 7,000 followers. As well as her footballing exploits, the blonde beauty likes to share snaps from her private life with friends and family.

She is one of Hermann's four children. Ida Marin and her sister, Thelma Loa, are from his first marriage to Ragna Loa Stefansdottir, while he has two sons with his fiancee, Alexandra Fanney Johannsdottir.

Iceland women have been placed in a 'group of death' with European champions England and World Cup holders Spain. The Group A winners qualify directly for the 2027 tournament, which will be held in Brazil, while the other three teams will go into the play-offs, which will feature sides from Group B and C.

Hermann, a no-nonsense defender, spent 15 years in English football after signing for Crystal Palace in 1997/98. He later played for Brentford and Wimbledon before making 100-plus appearances for Ipswich, Charlton and Portsmouth.

His career in English football ended with a brief spell at Coventry City. He returned to his homeland in 2013, serving as player-manager for IBV and Fylkir. He then had a brief spell as manager of Fylkir's women's team.

Hermann returned to English football as assistant manager to Sol Campbell at struggling League One side Southend United in October 2019. However, after failing to stop the Shrimpers' relegation to League Two, he and Campbell left by mutual consent.
