Alexander Isak has ended his silence regarding his continuing transfer drama, with the striker alleging Newcastle have 'broken promises'.

Following his absence from the PFA Awards, where he earned a place in the Team of the Year, Isak posted on his Instagram story: "I've kept quiet for a long time while others have spoken. That silence has allowed people to push their own version of events, even though they know it doesn't reflect what was really said and agreed behind closed doors.

He wrote: "The reality is that promises were made and the club has known my position for a long time. To now act as if these issues are only emerging is misleading. When promises are broken and trust is lost, the relationship can't continue. That's where things are for me right now and why change is in the best interests of everyone, not just myself."

Newcastle are holding discussions over a potential swoop for Wolves striker Jorgen Strand Larsen as they consider alternatives to Alexander Isak.

The Magpies have endured a frustrating summer in their hunt for attacking reinforcements, having already seen Joao Pedro, Hugo Ekitike and Benjamin Sesko slip through their fingers to Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United respectively.

The Athletic now reports that Strand Larsen has emerged on their radar, with talks ongoing through intermediaries rather than direct club-to-club negotiations. The report suggests that whilst Strand Larsen would welcome the switch, he is not 'agitating to leave Wolves'.

Federico Chiesa has decided to remain at Liverpool following his first Premier League strike in the victory over Bournemouth.

Chiesa arrived at Anfield last summer but managed only four league starts during his inaugural season, sparking widespread speculation about a potential departure. Nevertheless, according to continental reports, both the player and his advisors have informed club hierarchy of their desire to stay put.

It's suggested that this marks a shift from his sentiments earlier this summer. When quizzed about Chiesa's future following the victory over Bournemouth, Slot informed journalists that he has "no reason to believe" the Italy international would be departing.
