Manchester United have announced the signing of Youri Tielemans on a 35million deal from Aston Villa.

Tielemans, 29, has moved to Old Trafford on a five-year deal after the Red Devils met his release clause. Tielemans said: Its hard to describe just how proud I am to join Manchester United. Signing for such a special club feels incredible, it is the culmination of years of dedication since I first fell in love with football.

I have had the privilege of experiencing success in the game and it has only increased my determination to achieve more. The ambition from everyone at the club is extremely clear; we are all determined to push for the biggest trophies over the coming years.

United's director of football Jason Wilcox said: Youri has consistently been one of the most outstanding midfielders in the Premier League throughout the past seven years.

Tielemans first moved to the Premier League with Leicester City in 2019, after making his senior debut for Anderlecht aged 16 before leaving for Monaco in 2017, just after his 20th birthday.

He left the King Power in 2023, and has since made 93 appearances in the English top flight for Villa, before moving to the Red Devils.
