Police are investigating after a Manchester City fan was left with his face covered in blood after he was attacked before the FA Cup game against Huddersfield Town on Sunday.

Pep Guardiolas side began their defence of the FA Cup on Sunday as they brushed aside Championship outfit Huddersfield 5-0 thanks to an own goal, a double from Phil Foden and goals from Julian Alvarez and Jeremy Doku during a comfortable afternoon for the reigning champions.

However, the game has been overshadowed by unsavoury scenes prior to kick-off as a group of rival fans were filmed fighting on the tram to the stadium before the game. The video posted to social media showed people punching each other while a City fan looked stunned with a face full of blood after allegedly being hit with a pint glass.
