A Championship star has been charged with drink-driving following a three-vehicle collision and his club have released a statement regarding the incident

Birmingham City striker Marvin Ducksch has been charged with drink-driving following a three-vehicle crash on Easter Monday.

Warwickshire Police were called to the incident on the A3400 near Henley-in-Arden, where the Blues' first-team training ground is situated, at approximately 10.30pm, and arrested Ducksch at the scene.

The two-time Germany international had earlier appeared for Blues as a substitute in their 2-1 defeat to Ipswich Town at Portman Road. Ducksch was formally charged by police on Monday, 13 April. A statement from Warwickshire Police said: "A 32-year-old man from Solihull has been charged with drink driving following a collision near Henley-in-Arden.

"At around 10.30pm on Monday, 6 April, officers attended a report of a three-vehicle collision on the A3400.

"Marvin Ducksch was arrested and was yesterday, 13 April, charged with drink driving.

"He has been bailed to appear before Warwickshire Magistrates in Leamington on Wednesday, 20 May."

Ducksch, who joined Blues on a three-year contract from Werder Bremen last summer, was omitted from the squad that defeated Wrexham 2-0 on Sunday.
