Mia Khalifa slams Trump's 'tactics' over World Cup hero's 'deserving' moment

Former adult star Mia Khalifa has continued with her views on the World Cup as she hit out on at the Trump administration for robbing a World Cup hero of a "beautiful" moment

Mia Khalifa has continued her World Cup fever by speaking out over a new World Cup hero reportedly robbed of a heart-warming moment as she hit out at the Trump administration.

The former adult star, who went viral in an AI World Cup photo with Lana Rhoades, was speaking about Cape Verde goalkeeper Vozinha, who has gained over seven million followers on social media since his heroics kept out Spain.

The result sparked celebrations in Cape Verde, the group of islands off Africa's west coast that is home to about half a million people. Cape Verde is the third-smallest nation by population to ever qualify for the World Cup.

However, the moment was a bitter sweet one for 40-year-old Vozinha. The keeper said after the game that his mom was not able to make it to the United States to watch him play because of difficulties getting a visa.

Visa's have been a major talking point for this year's World Cup with some fans having theirs removed shortly before they were due to head and some being rejected from entering the country, like Somai referee Omar Artan.

Vozinha could now see his mum, Ana Candida Evora, be able to enter the US to watch him play Uruguay in Miami on Sunday (June 21), according to reports of calls to officials to step in.

Mia was reacted to a post on X about Vozinha's mother as she called the situation a "blatant example of how easily the state department can intervene". She also called the situation "intimidation tactics by this tiny d*** administration".

She wrote on X: "As beautiful and deserving as this is, its also a blatant example of how easily the state department can intervene with these manufactured visa issues most of the global south teams have had to endure as intimidation tactics by this tiny d*** administration."

Meanwhile, the US State Department has spoken about the Vozinha's mum's visa application and said it had no record of her ever applying for a visa. However, they stated that it was working on resolving the situation with Cape Verde authorities.

The department said it had notified all players from World Cup countries affected by the $15,000 visa bond requirement that they and their families would be exempt from posting the bond.

"All relatives of players are eligible for visa bond waivers, and the department is actively reaching out to this player's family to assist with visa services," the department said.

A person familiar with the situation said that the State Department believes that Vozinha's mother did not apply for a visa because she did not hold a valid Cape Verde passport, but that she is now in the process of getting one.
