After many years of struggling with his weight, ex-Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur defender Neil Ruddock looks like he is in the best shape he has been since his playing days

Former Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur defender Neil Ruddock showed off a stunning body transformation which has seen him lose seven stone.

The Englishman underwent a gastric sleeve procedure, which has completely overhauled his physique. During the Coronavirus pandemic, Ruddock admitted allowing the weight to pile on and weighed as much as 27 stone when he was at his heaviest.

However, the former central defender looks completely unrecognisable ever since his weight loss operation.

Ruddocks op was performed by the Transform Hospital Group, who also carried out the same procedure on former The Only Way is Essex star James Argent. Ruddock decided to go under the knife after meeting the TOWIE ace and popular television personality at a charity football match.

Its safe to say, Ruddock has found a new lease of life. "I struggled during Covid, that was a big factor, just sitting on my backside at home getting bigger and bigger," he said to the Daily Mail.

"I was eating loads and loads of takeaways, making bacon sandwiches just for something to do. I feared for my life, definitely.

"I know a lot of people will read this and say I've cheated, and I tell you what I did. I cheated death. The way I was going, who knows how long I could continue like that." Ruddock also added the band has taken some hormones away resulting in his cravings and temptations almost becoming something of the past.

He even added he is pleased he can now pull into a McDonalds drive-through, order food for his kids, but then pass up the opportunity to order food for himself. As well as his struggles with his weight, Ruddock has also experienced numerous health problems, culminating with a pacemaker and spoke being fitted when he was starring in ITV show Harrys Heroes.

Nearly three years on from the emotional appearance on the program, Razor Ruddock is certainly looking Razor sharp.
