Paul Pogba has taken a surprising turn into the world of acting during his time out from football due to a doping ban.

The 31-year-old French midfield maestro was initially slapped with a four-year ban from the beautiful game after he tested positive for DHEA, a banned substance that boosts testosterone levels - back in August 2023.

Pogba insisted he was innocent and took his case to court. And his banned was slashed after a trial at the Court of Arbitration for Sport - allowing him play again in March.

But Pogba hasn't just been kicking his heels while sidelined; he's made a splash on the silver screen. He's playing a youth team football coach in the flick '4 Zeros' and rocked up to its premiere at Pathe Palace in Paris last Tuesday, arm-in-arm with his missus Zulay.

Pogba couldn't wait to brag about his film debut to his whopping 62 million Instagram fans, posting snaps from the glitzy event and gushing: "Super happy to appear in the movie 4 Zeros," reports the Mirror.

His French fans will have to wait until next year to catch him on the big screen. While he's chuffed with his new gig, Pogba's got his eyes on the prize his footie comeback. The BBC says he's all set to get back to training in January.

He's told Sky Sports he reckons the reduced ban is fair, saying: "I'm not a cheater. I'm someone that loves my sport, I love the game and I would never, ever cheat. I like to win fairly. I'm a bad loser but I'm not a cheater."

Paul Pogba has accepted some blame for his doping ban, stating: "I take some responsibility because I took the supplement. I didn't triple-check, let's say it like that, even if it came from a professional. If I have to be punished, I am fine with it, but it should never be four years."
