The Daily Star: News with a Wink

Every done deal on Transfer Deadline Day and the moves which are still on brink of happening

Transfer Deadline Day saw teams up and down the country make last-minute moves as they looked to strengthen their options for the remainder of the season

Premier League Transfer Watch: Armando Broja wanted by Fulham as clubs scramble for deadline-day deals

The winter transfer window has slammed shut with a drab Deadline Day concluding at 11pm.

Summing up the lack of noteworthy action, Crystal Palace were one of the biggest spenders as they secured the signing of Adam Wharton from Blackburn in a deal worth an initial 18million, potentially rising to 22m.

Hollywood-backed Wrexham were busy early on, bringing in two new faces in Jack Marriott and Luke Bolton, while Aston Villa strengthened with the signings of Lino Sousa from Arsenal, who is being loaned straight out to Plymouth, and Morgan Rogers.

Rogers heads to Villa Park for a reported 15million having scored seven goals and made nine assists for Boro this season, with Unai Emery's side finally getting a deal done having had three bids rejected.

Alex Pritchard got his move away from Sunderland, joining Birmingham. The Black Cats had announced at the end of last week Pritchard had informed the club he was no longer available for selection and wanted to leave Sunderland.

Nottingham Forest, who have spent wildly at times in the last 18 months, were busy again on Transfer Deadline Day, bringing in 18-year-old striker Rodrigo Ribeiro on loan from Sporting Lisbon and Belgium goalkeeper Matz Sels for a deal worth up to 5m.

Sheffield United recruited Everton defender Mason Holgate on loan to aid their Premier League relegation battle. And Chelsea let 19-year-old Andrey Santos head to French club RC Strasbourg until the summer.

As always, there's also deals which will rumble on into the night. Tottenham are set to beat Barcelona to the signing of Swedish wonderkid Lucas Bergvall, who's booked for a medical on Friday - his 18th birthday.

Jesse Lingard, meanwhile, looks to have finally found a club - and in a shock turn of events, that's South Korean side FC Seoul.

The major talking point of the day has been Chelsea striker Armando Broja making a short switch across west London to rivals Fulham, who are nearing his loan signing for a 4m fee.
