Best Glorious Goodwood day three bets from award-winning horse racing tipster

Glorious Goodwood day three sees one of the most exciting horses strut her stuff as the Daily Star Sport's chief tipster Jason Heavey cast his expert eye over the cards

Jason Heavey Daily Star Sport's expert horse racing tipster

Day three of Glorious Goodwood sees one of the most exciting horses strut her stuff in the shape of Diamond Necklace.

Aidan OBriens superstar filly has already won two Classics and will be a warm order to win. She will have to be good to win the Qatar Nassau Stakes. Our tipster Jason Heavey who had five winners on Tuesday offers his race by race verdict. All prices correct at the time of writing.

Jason is one of the countrys leading newspaper tipsters. In 2023 he did the rare double of winning both national tipping titles the Racing Post Press Challenge and also the coveted Racing Post Naps Table. He is currently the leading red-top tipster in the country in the National Press Challenge table.

1.50 Coral Kincsem Handicap

CIARRAI ABU is improving and taken to swoop fast and late to score. Harry Eustace has placed him well to win twice this season and at Ascot last time he did well to win despite swerving to his left near the finish.

There is plenty more in his locker and the extra two furlongs should bring about more improvement. There are several unexposed three-year-olds in the race including Ffos Las maiden winner Dark Whisper and Jack Channons Decade Of Time who is likely to head the market.

Harmonics is another leading fancy for the Gosdens after a good run at the royal meeting, while the bottom weight Lean dAislingean is interesting. Savvy Disko has made all the right moves in winning both his starts and at 10-1 he will carry my each-way cash.

TIP: CIARRAI ABU

Each-way: Savvy Disko

2.25 Markel Richmond Stakes

Night In Vegas can turn the tables on Cut A Dash(Image: Getty Images)

NIGHT IN VEGAS can hit the jackpot in this Group Two contest. Eve Johnson Houghton thinks the world of this son of Lucky Vega who won his first two starts.

After a smooth success at Ascot he followed up at this track before running a blinder to be fifth in the Coventry Stakes. He got too far back and was also bumped in the final furlong so the run can be marked up.

Night In Vegas can turn the tables on Cut A Dash who was just ahead of him after a trouble-free run.

Flann Sunna is unbeaten and was impressive both times, especially at Ascot when he showed a lethal turn of foot and he remains the one to beat.

Not many of Aidan OBriens are as big as 8-1 and Mans Best Friend is worth an each-way look although he may start shorter. A better place play could be Hickory Lad (16-1) who is very tough and talented and will run his race.

TIP: NIGHT IN VEGAS

Each-way: Hickory Lad

3.00 Maison Perrier Gordon Stakes

Enceladus is looking to continue his Royal Ascot form(Image: PA)

ENCELADUS is fancied to notch a Royal Ascot-Glorious Goodwood double in this traditional trial for the St Leger. Joseph OBriens colt was thoroughly professional in winning the King George V Handicap last month on just his fourth career start.

It was a smooth, no-nonsense success from the useful Al Azd, who franked the form with an easy win last week. The son of Sea The Stars can make the transition from handicap company to Group Three prestige before going on to even better things.

Geryon looks his main rival. The strapping Ger Lyons colt was an imposing winner of the Meld Stakes at Leopardstown and this longer trip should be perfect.

Derby fourth Bay of Brilliance is on a retrieval mission after finishing tailed off in the German Derby but Epsom may just have left its mark on Ralph Becketts horse.

Venetian Lace is talented but has been disappointing in her last two races whereas Shaihaan was far from disgraced when fifth in the Irish Derby despite running keenly.

Magnetude has it to do on ratings but James Owen is not afraid to roll the dice and under Oisin Murphy it would not be a surprise if he outran his odds (20-1).

TIP: ENCELADUS

Each-way: Magnetude

3.35 Qatar Nassau Stakes

Friendly Soul is looking to change her luck(Image: PA)

FRIENDLY SOUL is one of the unluckiest horses in training but she can upset the hot favourite.

John and Thady Gosdens mare was lucky to escape injury when she almost fell down the Haydock hole in a Listed race. And at Royal Ascot she had a nightmare trip in the Duke of Cambridge Stakes before running on to be third.

She is a Group One winner and can put it up to the odds-on hotpot Diamond Necklace. Aidan OBriens classy filly is unbeaten in five starts and has already picked up the French 1,000 Guineas and French Oaks this season and if she brings her A-game will be hard to beat.

Diamond Necklace does tend to idle when she hits the front and Ryan Moore will not want to get there too soon, so this could become a tactical battle.

William Buick on Friendly Soul may try to pounce as late as he can so the favourite does not have time to respond.

See The Fire is very good on her day and will keep the big two competitive under Oisin Murphy. And then there is Botagoz the dark horse of the race.

Roger Varians filly did well to reel in Diamond Rain in a Group Three race at Newcastle and although she will have to improve markedly to figure she may well have the scope to do that.

TIP: FRIENDLY SOUL

Each-way: Botagoz

4.10 Buccellati Handicap

ONE AND GONE is a sporting punt in another terrifyingly tricky handicap to solve. Ian Williams has placed this speedball to win at this track and latterly at Sandown.

He was a smooth winner at Goodwood and showed real tenacity to score in Esher after jockey Ryan Kavanagh dropped his whip mid-race.

A 14-1 shot at the time of writing, he is only 3lb higher in the weights and his ability to handle the course is a huge plus. He should get a nice tow into the race from the rapid Shes Got a Brother who is drawn near him.

The latter should enjoy the track and is a player along with Naanas Shadow who is enjoying a tremendous season.

Saffie Osborne is on fire at present and Coyy (20-1) has a progressive profile, while Quantum Power is in rare form winning his last three races and at 12-1 holds strong place appeal.

TIP: ONE AND GONE

Each-way: Quantum Power

4.45 Whispering Angel Nursery Handicap

Ryan Moore is booked to ride The Bookkeeper(Image: Mike Egerton/PA Wire)

It all adds up for THE BOOKKEEPER in this super competitive nursery. Richard Hughes two-year-old has done a lot right in his three runs and may have got in off a decent handicap mark.

He broke his duck at Haydock over 7f before running a fine fourth in the Woodcote Stakes at Epsom over a furlong less when he never quite landed a blow. Ryan Moore is a notable booking and from stall two should be able to secure the perfect race position.

The Saffie Osborne-ridden filly Wise And Wonderful is nicely weighted and has been well supported in the market while The Ginger Kid is another likely contender.

Oisin Murphy tends to ride the best of Hugo Palmers juveniles and he gets the leg-up on Mia Fantasia who has done little wrong in two runs.

TIP: THE BOOKKEEPER

Each-way: Wise And Wonderful

5.20 Tatler British EBF Maiden Fillies Stakes

SO LOVELY will take all the beating in what could turn out to be an informative maiden race.

She has a wonderful pedigree being the daughter of prolific Group One winning filly Love, who netted the Oaks and 1,000 Guineas in 2020. So Lovely produced a promising debut run when second at Leopardstown over a mile and she should know a lot more about the game this time.

Clarity showed ability on her Kempton debut while Elevating flew home on her York debut to be runner-up in a nice race and is one for the places.

The betting will be a guide to the newcomers La Torre, Beguiled and Siena Storm appeal on pedigree while Marcus Tregoning often runs a nice filly in this race so Orchard Hatches is worth a market check.

TIP: SO LOVELY

Each-way: Orchard Hatches

5.55 HKJC World Pool Handicap

Zennor Storm is backed to win the HKJC World Pool Handicap

ZENNOR STORM gets the vote to blow away his 19 rivals. In a fiercely competitive handicap, William Haggas beast has a good profile for this contest and could be well treated at the weights.

Unbeaten as a juvenile, he was disappointing on his first two runs this campaign before producing a better effort when staying on strongly to be fourth at York. At 12-1 he will do for me.

Go Rimbaud has been punted and looks well handicapped if he can replicate his all-weather form on fast turf ground.

Law Court, Electric Dreams and Runswick are all upwardly mobile three-year-olds who could have more to offer while Exclusive Code posted a fine effort from a bad draw at Royal Ascot in the Britannia Handicap.

Storm Point is a nice horse who we have not seen the best of and he could outrun his 33-1 price.

TIP: ZENNOR STORM

Each-way: Storm point
