A MotoGP star took a terrifying tumble during a free practice session on ahead of the Indonesian Grand Prix.
Spanish rider Marc Marquez lost control towards the end of what was a sweltering FP2 session on the opening day of running at the new Mandalika International Street Circuit. He slid off the bike after Turn 11 and began skidding off the track as sparks flew up behind him.
Frighteningly, the six-time champion then began barrel-rolling out of control before eventually coming to a stop in the gravel. Luckily he escaped with just a few cuts and bruises but the crash left him down in 22nd place.
"I crashed and [that] was not the time for crashing," Marquez said on Friday. "But when you push on the single lap sometimes it can happen. "
It was the Spaniard's second fall of the session, and his fourth crash of year so far. He suffered a broken humerus in 2020 and sat out the final two races of 2021 to focus on total rehabilitation for the current campaign.

Problems appeared to be plaguing both Honda riders out there as Marquezs team-mate Pol Espargaro placed in 19th after a front brake issue thwarted his time attack effort in FP2.
"I had no front brake in the last run when I put the [new] tyres," Espargaro explained. "So, I was especially angry because if tomorrow rains we are not in Q2.
"I had a good chance to be in the top three because we have good speed here. But suddenly the front brake stopped braking. We had an issue there. We have many parts on the bike, this can happen. Its a technical issue and hopefully tomorrow we can solve it."
