Johann Zarco reckons Ducati can dominate MotoGP this season.

The Italian manufacturer have had a Desmosedici finish in the top three of every race so far.

Frenchman Zarco, who is on the books with satellite Ducati team Pramac Racing, bagged second in both races under the Losail lights. Factory Ducati rider Francesco Bagnaia then managed the same feat in Portugal and Spain.

Bagnaia's teammate, Aussie ace Jack Miller, was the victor in Jerez. Zarco, 30, says the results bode well for the rest of the campaign.

"The bike is amazing this year and I think we have the best one in MotoGP," he exclusively told Starsport.

"We haven't managed to put three Ducatis on the podium yet, but this would be great to do soon.

"Seeing Miller win on a Ducati in Jerez gives me high hopes for the next races and even more confidence in the bike.

"Qatar and Doha were fantastic, you get a taste of it and you want it again. I think I've raced well, but with the crash in Portugal maybe I was not relaxed enough at Jerez to get on the podium, although at least I still got some points.

"At the beginning of the season, I thought being in the top five could be a reasonable target. But with the start I got, it'd be even better to be in the top three and fighting for the title. Let's see who I can catch as I think the capacity for myself on this bike is the top five at the very least.

"What will change compared with the first four races this weekend is the weather. The Ducati in the wet is preforming well and I usually have quite a good feeling in the wet. It's a great opportunity for me to get points."

Bagnaia, 24, is currently leading the championship having finished 16th overall in 2020.

Zarco says he's ready to take some tips from the Turin-born youngster.

"He has a different style to me, when he is feeling good he's using the Ducati in the best way," he added. "That's why it's interesting to get that information.

"I'm still struggling to get that consistency and I'm perhaps still lacking experience on this bike. From the first lap to the first I want to feel in total control of it."
