MotoGP news: BT Sport pundit makes massive Marc Marquez claim - EXCLUSIVE

MARC MARQUEZ is not guaranteed MotoGP glory this season, according to Neil Hodgson.

The Honda sensation has been hotly tipped to regain his title having penned a new two-year contract extension.

The 25-year-old is the youngest rider ever to win four titles.

Marquez secured glory twice two years consecutively in 2016 and 2017 and in 2013 and 2014.

So, is the Spaniard a sure thing going into Sundays Qatar curtain raiser? No, thankfully not, BT Sport pundit Hodgson told Starsport.

Hes the favourite and if Im putting money down it's going on Marquez.

But the beauty of our sport is you just dont know.

Although Hodgson is adamant that the 2018 campaign isnt a done deal, the former Ducati ace admits Marquez is one of a kind.

He added: Ive never witnessed anyone like him on a motorcycle. Hes phenomenal.

Ive never seen a braver racer. What he does, Ive now idea how.

Every other motorcyclist Ive watched I can work out what theyre doing. I watch him and just go, wow.
