LIV Golf rebel Brooks Koepka calls himself 'f***ing dumb***' in spectacular meltdown

Frustrations seemed to get the better of LIV Tour rebel Brooks Koepka, who left himself with a lot of hard work after messing up one of his green-approaches in Jeddah

For a split second, LIV Golf rebel Brooks Koepka became one of the most relatable golfers on the planet.

Considering his talent and the millions he is earning, the American is on a different planet to us mortals, who may occasionally go for a round with their friends. Koepka was reportedly paid a jaw-dropping $100million to depart the PGA Tour join the Saudi Arabian-backed rebel golf series in 2022.

However, after he shanked what would usually be a simple chip onto the green, Koepka reacted in the same way any other golf player, professional or otherwise, would.

At the time, Koepka was sitting at three under, trailing Australian ace Marc Leishman by two shots. But his mood was knocked when he had to take his second shot from a green-side bunker at the short par-4 17th of Royal Greens Golf and Country Club.

However, he made too much connection with the sand, resulting in his ball bobbling more than 30-feet short of the hole. As he trudged out of the bunker, he could be heard calling himself a f***ing dumb***.

While some players listen to sports psychologists who tell their clients to talk kindly to themselves, many fans liked Koepkas old-fashioned shout at yourself approach. Been there Brooksy! Love the intensity, one fan, who is evidently no stranger to the bunker, laughed.

Sounds like me talking to myself every Saturday, another added, before a fourth said I love these guys. Koepka did go on to save the par, before finishing the course with an emphatic birdie on the final hole.

He finished only one shot behind Leishman. It was a classy end to an all-round unpredictable round for Koepka.

Last years winner of the event alongside Peter Uihlein finished the round with four birdies, two bogeys and an eagle at hole nine, which was a par 4.
