Snooker champ Luca Brecel compares himself to Luke Littler and brings up FIFA points

World snooker champion Luca Brecel sees some similarities between himself and darts prodigy Luke Littler after drawing comparisons between their approach to handling fame - and FIFA points

Luca Brecel sees a kindred spirit in darts star Luke Littler.

More specifically, the reigning snooker world champion believes he and 'The Nuke' have a similar approach to success. Both snooker star Brecel and oche prodigy Littler have seen their profiles explode over the past year after making waves in their respective world championships.

And it's Brecel's belief that Littler has the same nonchalant demeanour as him when it comes to keeping their composure. That applies to shrugging off results - win or lose - or being completely candid about where their winnings go.

Speaking in a pre-tournament interview, he told Sports Boom: "If he wins or loses, it doesnt seem to change his approach, we [Littler] are the same. Im a lot more experienced in my sport than him, but you wouldnt know it which how he acts."

The 'Belgian Bullet' went on to say: "Hes very open with his approach. If he wins 200 grand, hes not afraid to tell you hes going to spend it on FIFA points, and Im very much like that."

Brecel, 29, was unabashed in his splurging after winning at the Crucible last year, spending a massive chunk of his winnings on several supercars. He became the first player from mainland Europe to clinch the world title after beating Mark Selby in the 2023 final.

That was one better than Littler, who sailed through the draw in his Darts World Championship debut before losing to Luke Humphries in the decider. That was still sufficient to get his hands on a 200,000 runner-up prize, and the Warrington teen has since settled into his surroundings as part of the Premier League.
