John Cena brings the curtain down on his glittering WWE career at Saturday Night's Main Event.
Widely regarded as the greatest performer in sports entertainment history, Cena will lace his boots for one final time when he faces former World Heavyweight Champion Gunther. The Austrian grappler won the Last Time Is Now tournament for the right to face the 48-year-old in front of a sell-out crowd at Washington DC's Capital One Arena.
However, for all Cena has achieved during his 23-year WWE career, he's a long way short of being the richest pro wrestling star. That honour belongs to a man who had a much shorter in-ring career before becoming the biggest movie star in the world - Dwayne Johnson, AKA The Rock.
Johnson, 53, who recently starred in the acclaimed The Smashing Machine, boasts an incredible net worth of 600million. Meanwhile, Cena, who has starred in multiple blockbusters himself, has an estimated net worth of 60m, 10 times less.
Cena is stepping away from the ring following a year-long farewell tour. It has featured a shock heel turn when he turned on Cody Rhodes at the behest of The Rock and a record 17th reign as world champion after beating Rhodes at WrestleMania 41.
Cena has also locked horns with some of his biggest rivals for a final time, including Randy Orton, CM Punk and Brock Lesnar.
After reverting to being a baby face (a good guy) again, he picked up the only major title to have eluded him, the Intercontinental Championship, after beating Dirty Dominik Mysterio, who promptly reclaimed the belt at last month's Survivor Series after interference from Mysterio's on-screen girlfriend Liv Morgan.
Cena's final match represents the passing of the torch, with stars of WWE's development brand, NXT, featuring on the show. Bayley, a legend of the women's division, faces NXT star Sol Ruca. Another icon of sports entertainment, AJ Styles and Dragon Lee defend their world tag team title against Je'Von Evans and Leon Slater.
Meanwhile, Undisputed WWE Champion Rhodes faces NXT Champion Oba Femi in a Champion vs Champion showdown. However, the spotlight, for one final time, will shine brightest on Cena, who has firmly ruled out a future comeback.
There had been speculation that Cena vs Gunther would open the show. However, that theory has been squashed by Cena, who told The Pat McAfee Show: "Were last. I don't know how the rumour started.
"I think some folks with credibility like to kick the hornet's nest every once in a while and get people chattering."
Saturday Night's Main Event is scheduled to begin at 1am UK time on Sunday, December 14. It is available to watch for free on WWE's YouTube channel.
