MLB star Brusdar Graterol cried uncontrollably after reuniting with his mother for the first time in seven years in a touching moment.
The Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher is originally from Venezuela but moved to the United States in 2014 to sign with the Minnesota Twins as an international free agent. He made his professional debut in 2015 with the Dominican Summer League Twins. Four years later he was called up to the major leagues by the franchise and made his debut in 2019.
His time with Twins in the MLB didn't last long. They traded him to the Dodgers, where he played 23 games in his debut season due to the Covid-shortened season. However, he still managed to win the World Series with the team in six games which was the franchise's first championship since 1988.

In his second season with the team, Graterol has been making his mark in the side as they're currently on top of the National League West having already clinched a playoff berth. The 25-year-old certainly contributed to a few tears on the faces of MLB fans after footage of him reuniting with his mother after seven years was posted on social media.
His mother, Ysmalia, arrived in the United States and immediately embraced her son in the airport who was weeping as she also got to meet her granddaughter, Aria. It's also the first time she's been able to watch her son pitch in the United States. The last time she was able to watch Graterol in action was back in 2015 when he was playing in the Dominican Summer League.

Thankfully, she got to watch her son and the Dodgers run out with a 3-2 win over the Detroit Tigers. Graterol was in tears as he pointed up to his mum, who was in skybox after he pitched a 1-2-3 scoreless eighth inning. He spoke to reporters after the game and said it was incredible to have his mother watch him in person.
"It was so incredible, I've always wanted to pitch in front of my mom. Being so successful as I've been pitching lately, it was so emotional and nice to have her here. We never really gave up on any situation, and luckily we found a way to get her to the United States." The Dodgers have a record of 93-58 this season as they aim to reclaim their World Series throne.
