Gamers have been enjoying a Beta test of the new Call of Duty title over the weekend in the brutal gun hit.
And your Daily Star has teamed with makers Activision to deliver an exclusive guide on how to dominate in Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Beta before it ends later this week.
Weve been given a first look at six of its core multiplayer maps ahead of the full game release later this year.
They reveal a meticulously crafted world steeped in the sinister machinations of The Guild in a near future.
And the gameplay in the last few days has become incredibly high level, as gamers across the world take to the title to give the new Treyarch-developed online maps a whirl.
Now, the team has shared tactical details for each map with us, giving players all they need to jump in and dominate multiplayer while they can ahead of the full game launch in November.
TOSHIN: Urban Warfare in a Neon-Lit Ruin
For the first time in franchise history, Black Ops takes players deep into Japan. Forget sprawling open fields; Toshin throws players into a tight-knit urban layout, a downtown shopping district bathed in the glow of advertisements, where a monorail lies in ruins.
This map is a masterclass in close-quarters combat and rapid decision-making whilst also paying homage to the regions blend of tradition and innovation, mirroring the themes at the heart of Black Ops 7. Players will
navigate park areas, market streets, and a bustling transit station, all designed to reward exploration and quick thinking.
* Tactical Nuances: Toshin punishes overextension. Moving fast is key, but moving with teammates is crucial to avoid being outnumbered in its narrow streets. Vantage points, like the Koban rooftop, offer excellent oversight of the Park, Station, and Monorail, allowing for strategic lockdown or swift flanks. The map also features clever vent connections, such as the one from the Station to the Signs walkable path or the Cat Caf connection, perfect for surprise attacks or quick escapes.
* Key Intel: Players are encouraged to utilise perks like Hunters Instinct to gain intel on enemy positions after an elimination, maintaining offensive pressure. The Demo Scout loadout, combining Flak Jacket, Blast Link, and Quartermaster with a Cluster Grenade, is particularly effective here, turning explosive damage into valuable minimap intel on these confined streets.
IMPRINT: Glacial Battles in a Robotics Facility
Zip up your parka for Imprint, a mid-sized robotics facility where The Guild manufactures its drones and advanced tech amidst a relentless blizzard.
This map offers a stark contrast to Toshins urban sprawl, blending interior close quarters with perilous snow-covered exteriors.
* Tactical Nuances: Imprint demands agility and environmental awareness. The map features an Inclinator connecting Robotics and Cooling, which can be activated for rapid traversal or used as a mobile cover. Operators are encouraged to find quicker paths, jumping to windows and platforms to bypass less direct routes, such as reaching vantage points in Cooling or jumping into Printing from Robotics.
The Ghost Perk and a Suppressor Attachment are recommended for navigating the exposed top and bottom lanes without being detected.
* Key Intel: The Out on a Ledge position on the east side of Cooling offers an often-overlooked vantage point. The upper window in Printing provides excellent oversight of the central Robotics zone. For quick descents from Robotics, players can utilise the double arrow icons flanking the Inclinator path, wall-running to the lower walkway.
EXPOSURE: Open-Air Combat with Shifting Dynamics
Exposure is predominantly an outdoor facility, with the Control Room serving as the sole accessible interior space. This map is all about navigating three well-defined lanes of combat, interspersed with the facilitys various components. High walls provide strong cover and ample flanking opportunities, making it a playground for tactical movement.
* Tactical Nuances: Exposures labyrinthine layout, filled with structures lacking windows, means players must keep their sights up and be ready to aim down sight around corners.
The maps open nature also makes it ideal for launching attacks against enemy aerial streaks, encouraging players to clear the air. The Echo Unit Field Upgrade is particularly effective here, deploying holographic soldiers to disorient foes around corners.
* Key Intel: The rotating Guild crate is a dynamic power position, requiring timing and agility to access, often involving wall-running. This crate, along with the upper Control Room window, Tower platform, and Salt Storage walkway, forms a Power of Three battleground, where control of these vantage points is paramount. The solar panel across the parked truck in Loading offers renewable cover, defending against enemies across all three lanes.
THE FORGE: Research and Development in a Lethal Arena
Explore the heart of research and development for The Guilds latest lethal tech. Built on the harbour, The Forge welcomes visitors with a demo and product lobby showcasing the latest advancements in autonomous weapon design. Navigate the split facility filled with displays of The Guilds capabilities, the two wings separated by the central range where rotating walls circle a defence turret.
* Tactical Nuances: The Forge is a map of two halves, demanding awareness of both close-quarters engagements in the facility wings and mid-range duels across the central range.
The rotating walls around the defence turret constantly shift cover, forcing players to adapt their positioning and sightlines. Utilising the covered walkway between Diagnostics and Patio is key for quick pivots and maintaining pressure.
* Key Intel: The base of the central turret, while spinning, offers a static point of cover. Climb onto it to protect your back while engaging enemies through the rotating wall openings. The opposing windows in Observation and Diagnostics provide excellent views over the centre Range; be prepared for marksman duels and consider jumping between them for unexpected flanks. In the Demo area, climbing onto the obstacle course barrier provides strong cover and a mounted position to control the space, but watch for enemies attempting to flank from below.
CORTEX: Experimental Research in a Cliffside Compound
Descend on a cliffside compound conducting experimental research for The Guild. Inside, scattered vat chambers hold subjects suspended in fluid, the operation supported by an adjoining. autopsy and morgue. Lock down the underpass to control the heart of the map or branch out to the narrow skybridge overlooking the water.
* Tactical Nuances: Cortex offers a mix of tight interior spaces and more open exterior engagements. The vat chambers are ideal for shotguns and close-range combat, while the Skybridge provides a perilous but rewarding route for flanking or long-range engagements. Controlling the Underpass is crucial for map flow, but be mindful of the various flanking routes.
* Key Intel: Shotguns are highly effective in the tight confines of the Vat Chambers, where the large vats provide cover and force close encounters. When traversing the Skybridge, be aware of your surroundings and consider using Finishing Moves on unsuspecting enemies who arent checking their six. The low walls and parked vehicles around the map offer decent cover and mounting points; go prone behind them when under fire to minimize your profile. The small Vent Passage connecting the Reactor room and the north end of the Skybridge is an easily overlooked shortcut and ambush point shoot or melee the vent coverings to open it up.
BLACKHEART: Peril on the Nautical Drilling Platform
Finally, we have Blackheart, a nautical drilling platform extracting essential resources for Guild projects. This map forces tight-knit skirmishes around a central, rotating drill, offering a unique blend of verticality and environmental hazards.
* Tactical Nuances: Blackheart is a map for agile Operators. Crossing the Grinder Pit or reaching the high ledge by the Diving Bell demands precise movement. The maps lanes funnel players into intense engagements, making teamwork crucial. Sticking with teammates, swapping between cover fire and forward movement, is vital for pushing up the map and countering ambushes.
* Key Intel: The Hunters Instinct perk is highly effective here, helping to reveal enemies hidden amongst the bulky obstacles on the Barge and around the Seabed Mining Vehicle. From the Barge side, aiming from behind crates near the Stand Clear platform offers a clear shot down the lane towards the opposite vantage point. A particularly devious tactic involves planting a Blast Trap in the centre of the rotating Drill platform, catching unsuspecting enemies attempting to rush through.
A spokeswoman for Black Ops 7 said: These six maps represent a thrilling foundation for Black Ops 7s multiplayer beta giving players the chance to play diverse, engaging, and strategically rich combat experiences.
Jump into the Black Ops 7 Beta from Oct. 28, with more maps and modes being introduced throughout the play period.
