Call of Duty fans slam Black Ops 6 Season 2 skins as 'ugliest skins I've ever seen'

Call of Duty players across Black Ops 6 and Warzone have Season 2 to enjoy, but as part of the update's store refresh, a familiar debate has returned.

Once again, the eternal struggle between Call of Duty's more realistic origins and the increasingly off-the-wall skin designs has fans up in arms, and there might be one that's even worse than Season 1 Reloaded's Blunty.

While we can't say we have strong thoughts either way, it's certainly an unsettling skin to come face-to-face with.

No, your eyes aren't deceiving you, the above is a real Call of Duty Season 2 skin, looking somewhere between an aquatic creature and a gremlin.

To Activision's credit, you can clearly see the Operator underneath the mask, but the mascot-like creature has rubbed fans the wrong way both for its look, and its price tag.

"$30 is wild" one commenter said, while another pointed out the fact it's a first-person shooter means you won't see the skin anyway in-game.

"This game has the UGLIEST skins I've ever seen in a AAA game," one said, while another suggests it's channeling Blunty energy, saying "I believe its either kids or the really casual playerbase that smokes weed and get high while playing.

"If youre high and hover the store bundles you will likely find this skin funny and probably will buy it."

Another Reddit thread asks the question as to whether the game takes place in 1991 or 2091 given the Blackcell Operator skin that's available.

"The campaign takes place in the 90s while the MP takes place in whatever era it decides," one comment says while another jokes "It takes place in the item store".

Others are upset that, despite Activision not letting some of the more surprising Modern Warfare 2 and 3 skins carry over, the current item store lineup sticks out like a sore thumb.

Don't expect anything to change anytime soon, either. As shared by longtime Call of Duty account CharlieINTEL, the Blackcell season pass was Steam's number 2 top-seller yesterday.
