Capcom is in a new golden era at the moment, with Dragon's Dogma 2 being a fantastic RPG last year, Resident Evil firing on all cylinders again, and Monster Hunter Wilds being a colossal success despite some PC issues.
With a new Onimusha on the way next year, fans have been wondering which other series the studio will work its magic on. Dead Rising got a great remaster recently, Street Fighter 6 was fantastic, and Devil May Cry is getting a Netflix show so what about Dino Crisis?
The survival horror with the elevator pitch of "Resident Evil with dinosaurs" has been a cult hit, despite no new entry since 2003's Dino Crisis 3 (which, admittedly, was a low point). Now, a new trademark might have confirmed it's still in the studio's thoughts, however.
As spotted by Gematsu, a new trademark has been spotted for Dino Crisis in Japan, and it was filed this month (March 4).
The trademark, for games on multiple formats, was applied for by Capcom Co Ltd, and published on March 12.
While it doesn't mean Capcom necessarily wants to do something with the IP, it's possible it's been building up to this for some time.
Capcom recently ran a poll asking about potential remakes, with Dino Crisis featured in the list, while Dino Crisis and Dino Crisis 2 were added to game preserving storefront GOG.com at the start of 2025.
The first Dino Crisis launched in 1999 on the original PlayStation, following a special operations agent, Regina, as she navigates what are essentially the labs from Jurassic Park.
The second game saw things get further into time travel and added Dylan as a second playable character, while Dino Stalker saw the series turn to a lightgun game (remember those?).
Finally, Dino Crisis 3 is set in the year 2548 and truly jumps the shark. Dino Crisis 4 had been mentioned in 2014, but things have been relatively quiet since.
