Elon Musk to step into video game industry and use AI to 'make games great again'

Elon Musk has committed to building his own game studio to "make games great again", but the wider gaming community seems decidedly less excited about the prospect.

It's been a big couple of days for billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk. Before finding himself embroiled in a social media disagreement with an Xbox developer, he's also committed to building his own video game studio.

Responding to a post on X (formerly Twitter), Musk said "xAI is going to start an AI game studio to make games great again".

While the X responses cheer him on, suggesting xAI will be a "new challenger", Reddit feels a little less positive about Musk's potential new venture.

Over on the r/gaming Reddit, responses include calling Elon Musk "the human version of Superman 64" (one of the worst games ever made).

"Thank god. The thing I've always hated about video games are the human touches that the creators put in and how games reflect the artists' personal quirks," one sarcastic commenter added.

Still, with calls from fans or Musk to splash the cash and acquire the Dungeons and Dragons license or Games Workshop, it's clear some people really want to see his vision for the future of gaming.
