Is Fortnite down? Latest server status as Chapter 6 Season 3 Galactic Battle arrives

Darth Jar Jar is canon now, at least for Fortnite

Fortnite is getting bigger and bigger, and Chapter 6 Season 3 might be its biggest update yet. Named Galactic Battle, this Star Wars crossover will bring map changes, fresh skins, and, of course, lightsabers.

It'll also let you attend a TV show premiere which is a first for Disney, but whatever you're excited for, there's the small matter of server downtime to get through first.

Fortnite, as a live service game, needs time to roll out its updates, and that means you can expect some server maintenance time. Here's all we know about the Galactic Battle update timings ahead of launch.

And hey, maybe this season will make its way to iPhone soon.

At the time of writing, the servers are down, and are likely to be down for a little while. The servers will drop out at 7 AM UK time, and we're expecting a few hours of maintenance time.

Expect Fortnite to return between 10AM and midday, but with plenty of new content included.

As we've covered, Galactic Battle will kick off a whole Star Wars chapter.

Map changes include four new POIs, with the Resistance Base you can see above, and you can expect to see TIE Fighters, X-Wings, and even the Millenium Falcon around the game's ever-evolving island.

Naturally, there's a new Battle Pass, and the skins this time around include Poe Dameron, General Grievous, and Emperor Palpatine.

Players can also get Darth Jar-Jar, who is seemingly canon in Fortnite's Star Wars update, while players can nab a free First Order Stormtrooper skin by linking their Epic Games account with their MyDisney one.

We're also expecting a slate of live events throughout the season, including Mandalorian Rising, Star Destroyer Bombardment, and Death Star Sabotage.
