GTA 6 fans beg Rockstar for 'awesome' Red Dead feature to make a return

Grand Theft Auto 6 is less than a year away now, but fans are hoping Rockstar Games brings back a Red Dead Redemption 2 feature for its upcoming modern epicmap evolution

GTA 6 is less than a year away, and we've been watching both of the game's trailers on repeat since the second one arrived to find even more clues about the game which has been in development for years.

There's a whole host of rumours about the game including children, buildings being explorable and more, but fans have called on Rockstar to bring back a huge Red Dead Redemption 2 feature.

If you cast your mind back, you might remember that at various points in Rockstar's cowboy sequel, the game's environments would change following certain chapters of the story.

For example, Saint Denis would become more built up, while Braithwaite Manor would be burned down in one of the game's best missions.

Would GTA 6 include this Red Dead feature?

Over on the GTA 6 subreddit, one fan has shared comparison shots of in-game locations in Red Dead Redemption 2 that change over time. Trees are cut down, buildings are removed and rebuilt, and snow layers over certain mountainous areas.

"Surely Rockstar wouldn't innovate with building/map progression in RDR2 only to NOT bring this back in GTA 6?" the poster said, suggesting that GTA 6's modern setting could allow for players to see buildings completed throughout the story.

Could story events shape the map?

"I think its more reasonable to expect this to occur with smaller projects like road construction, repairs and other infrastructure projects. Skyscrapers take too long to build," one commenter added, with another pointing out that the skyscraper in GTA 5's downtown area still isn't finished.

"They story of RDR2 takes place over a couple of years," another commenter pointed out.

"Unless the storyline for GTA 6 also takes over a couple of years I don't see it happening and even if it does a skyscraper take a long time to build."

We love the idea of the map shifting as we progress through Lucia and Jason's story, particularly if it happens in multiple locations like in Red Dead Redemption 2 and ties into the story at multiple points.
